How to Install a Crystal Drapery Hardware Display Board With Holdbacks, Crowns, Finials, and Poles

How to Install a Crystal Drapery Hardware Display Board With Holdbacks, Crowns, Finials, and Poles | DIY Drapery. Visit our site for a free drapery gift: http://www.crystaldraperyhardware.com...

Today we are going to demonstrate how our display boards are set up. Display boards are very self-explanatory however we are making this video to show you step-by-step how to construct one yourself.

Our display board comes with a mounting bracket attached and it also comes with an additional mounting bracket that will go underneath it and attach it to the wall.

The second part of our display board consists of our frame with four brackets, two of which are on the bottom. And the top part of the display board is open. The reason for that is so that you can take your display board and slide it into the frame. Once it is slid in, it goes into the brackets.

Now the surface of the board has labels of all of the items that will be mounted on to it.

So the first thing we are going to do is put our mounting board up. There are two ways to do this. You can use a tape measure and measure from the floor to the bottom of the bracket which should read 73 inches. Or you can use a level to go ahead and make sure that you have a level surface. We recommend 73 inches because that is a good height in terms of eye level for your clients to view the display board. Of course you can choose a different height if that works better for you but 73 inches is what we recommend.

Once that's mounted, all you have to do now is just simply put up your board. Just make sure that you have about an inch or so on either side and that it is secured tightly and isn't going to go anywhere.

So now I am going to go ahead and put up our bracket. In order to know where our brackets go, we have pre-drilled and pre-labeled each placement for each item. So to make it easy on yourself, just follow the holes.

Now I'm going to go ahead and put up the brackets. Each bracket has a name on the bottom of it that will correspond with its placement on the board.

We have provided you with the smaller screws that are only ½ inch with a hex head to avoid having them go through the board. This will also coordinate where they are supposed to go.

Now we are going to put up your pole. To put up the pole make sure that the rings are put on first. There are three rings that come with every pole. Then you want to go ahead and mount your finial. But make sure that the rings go on first. You also want to make sure that everything is aligned as far as the crystals go.

Now we have the pole up and the brackets already on the board. Note: sometimes the boards come with the brackets already assembled.

Now we are going to go ahead and unscrew the sides where it holds the stems. Then we will go ahead and pull the stems out. And then we will take these stems and mount them on to the back of the holdbacks. And once it's mounted all you have to do is slip it in. Once they are slipped in, all you have to do is just tighten the screw.

Now that we put up the display board, it can simply be picked up and put back on the wall. We have done this so you can install all of the items on the floor rather on the wall.

All of your display boards come with a crystal repair kit which includes a bottle of glue, a supply of crystals and an applicator.

What you have to do is really apply the glue thoroughly. Then make sure you have a good angle so you can reach the crystals easily. And then you apply them.

I'm sure it will bring you prosperity and wealth inside of this display board since it has brought us the same. All of our hardware is embellished with Swarovski crystal. And I'm sure you will enjoy having it in your showroom. So feel free to give us a call if you have any questions. You can reach us at www.Galaxy-Design.com or (866) 215-3173.

I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you in person in our showroom. Thank you.

Curtain Design in Brentwood

Curtain Design in Brentwood | Room Design Ideas | Crystal Drapery Hardware | Galaxy Design. Visit our site for a free gift of your choice: Galaxy Design

Have you ever walked into a room that took your breath away? A room that was exquisite in every way right down to the magnificent custom window treatments? Would you like to know how it's done?

Stop by our showroom or visit our site today for a free copy of our informative guide, "5-Step Exquisite Interiors" or to sign up for our design class where we walk you through the process step-by-step.

The video explains the process Galaxy design takes when doing a curtain design in a bed room.

Today here we are at the Karysefin's house here in Brentwood. We're going to go upstairs. What we are doing is an opening for a master bedroom. We are also trying to dress up their bed by doing some swags and cascades. So let me take you upstairs and show you what's going on.

OK, so this morning our plan is to go ahead and to dress up this window here behind me. This is a very beautiful bedroom, there's a lot of work that's gone into it, a lot of details it's very ornate.

We are planning to use our dazzling drapery hardware collection. Our plan is to use our goal is to use our crystal drapery scrolls, our crystal drapery hold backs and our crystal drapery crowns combined. The picture we are trying to achieve is similar to this.

We are also going to be using swags for the bed. And one of the things with the swags is that we are going to use Velcro to avoid having to staple them onto the bed.

These are the cascades that we are going to be using on the corner of the bed. The crystal drapery scrolls are right here. These are the crystal drapery holdbacks. And these are the textures we are planning on using for this particular room. We've combined two fabrics in this house and this is what our plan is.

We just have to make sure that these drapes are handled properly and that they are stored properly so that the client can reuse them at a later date.

It's really crucial to make sure that the drapes are handled properly and that they are folded correctly so they can be used again. We are going to seam fold them which is simply having every on folded where the seams are. By doing this you don't have to try and rewrap them while you are on the ladder it will allow you to hang them up straight in the air. And you can do this with one person rather than having two people seam folding.

This particular design that we are doing is called scarfing. And with the scarfing because we are using the crystal drapery scrolls, we always recommend that you cut one of the sides at an angle versus the other side which will be a straight cut. The reason for this is that we are using the scrolls. The scrolls are tilting at an angle and we have a right angle and a left angle and this is really important when we are using the drapery scrolls.

Now we are going to slip the pocket into the scroll to see what it looks like. This part of the job is probably the easiest and most crucial parts of the job. It's all about how you go about swaging this fabric across. All you have to do is simply by keeping it flat, and working from the edge of the fabric working in at an angle, it will give you a very nice deep swag. As you can observe.

This room since this is an opening between the two we chose to go ahead and use both sides of the fabric. And by using both sides of the fabric we are going to have one color on one side and the second color on the other side. What I chose to do on this one is add a valance on the drapes so that we could have an attached valance when they gather up.

We simply organize the fabric all evenly. This is all we need to do to avoid having to see the bracket and this will get mounted into the ceiling. What I'm going to do now is to organize the fabric all evenly across the rod so that when we come to pleating it, it's all ready to go.

Now I'm going to slip the bracket onto the rod. And snap it on. OK we're ready to put it up, let's see what it looks like.

So, what I'm doing now is since we put up all of the swags, I'm going to make sure they stay in place. I'm going to do this by putting a zip on this and simply pulling the zip. The zips will keep the custom drapes and the scarf from moving anywhere else.
We are getting toward the end of the job now. I'm starting to dress the drapes. They look really nice. We put the pleats in and we are making sure they are all dressed up nicely. While I'm doing this Martin in the meantime is working on the swags. Yes, Martin is starting to dress up the bed...

Do It Yourself Drapes: Window Treatment Ideas With Swags, Scrolls and Holdbacks

Do It Yourself Drapes | Window Treatment Ideas With Swags, Scrolls and Holdbacks | Curtains and Drapes Los Angeles. Visit our site for a free drapery gift: http://www.crystaldraperyhardware.com...

So today our plan is to go ahead and demonstrate how to use our captivating scrolls. In order to do this I'm going to show you not only how to use them but how to go about hanging a scarf from it. This is one of our do-it-yourself packages that we get a lot of demand for. It's a unique design and it's very, very easy to do.

This particular one, our crystal drapery scrolls have a wire on the back of them that sleeves into a little pocket and all I have to do is just take it out and sleeve it out and sleeve my fabric through it. So what I have done is simply put a small pocket on the end of the drape just enough for my wire to slip into this little pocket.

Once you have slipped the fabric through it all you have to do is simply put that back into place. And that's all you have to do. So we now have a fabric that's hanging from the scroll.

Now the next thing I'm going to do is put the sleeves back onto the arms. These sleeves are made in 3.5 inch and 5.5 inch projections. So what I do is put up the first bracket and this will allow me to determine the angle. I may want it at a higher angle or a lower angle. I usually like to have them at this angle which is not too high or too low. And then all I do is by simply keeping them in this position, all I have to do is go ahead and put in my second screw. Once I've done that it's pretty much secure in place, it's not going anywhere. And now I have a fabric that is just hanging from our scrolls. All we have to do at this time by simply adjusting a little bit of these pleats that we have across here by keeping them even and making sure they are hanging even. And one way to do that is simply to pull on the fabric.

For the sake of demonstration we did not hem the edges of this fabric. It would be highly recommended that you go ahead and hem the edges of these but we can hide that and as we go along I'm going to show you how we do that.

Since we did not hem the fabric, I'm going to go ahead and just take the first fold and fold it inward to hide that raw edge. Then I'm going to work my way towards the center in an angle. Just keep going up at an angle to get that swag look.

As you can see, this is already starting to form really nicely.

Now that I have pulled it to the center, all I have to do is just make sure that this hem is on the first fold is hidden underneath and all I need to do now is just scarf it over my holdback. In order to have it on the top all I do is just pull the first fold. That will give me a very nice tail as well as a nice swag.

If I want to go ahead and pull any pleats out I do this simply by adjusting my hands long ways I can go ahead and put creases in it to create my folds. So what I did here is added a little bit of trim without even sewing it on there. I just simply laid it on the bottom and this will give it a little more enhanced look.

Now you have a very simple window treatment, simply put up and it looks very elegant. This is using our scrolls as well as using our holdbacks.

I'm going to put up a holdback. I'm going to show you how to dress our fabrics over our holdbacks. In this particular case I want to do about 7.5 inches because there seems to be a little bit of depth in the wall. And once I've done that I simply put the holdback on there. For this particular purpose you are going to use the same technique. As you can see, the drapes are hanging from the same scroll...
